may 27 '09 a calla lily. glad to see this bloom :) cause i baby'd it for a couple of months. i planted it in a pot last year and put it on a shelf in the garage for the winter (i had never overwintered anything before) ~ well it started sprouting at the beginning of march ~ so i moved it from inside to outside i don't know how many times, that got old. lesson learned i will take the bulb out of the pot and put it in a paper bag so it won't start growing until i'm ready next year. i should have used a larger aperture, but it's all i got today and i like the heart shape.

can't believe i have never had any coleus before. i planted this collection this year and really love it because it's so colorful all the time.

chameleon plant (houttuynia cordata) ~ looks pretty doesn't it?? it should be against the law to sell this stuff. it is so invasive. i am forever moving plants around here and there, and i swear a little bit of this comes along with everything i move. what a mess, sprayed it with roundup, but i bet it is going to take a few shots of roundup to kill it. so if you are ever looking for a plant and you see this one, don't even think about it.

hydrangea is starting to bloom. what a shame ~ i planted this on the far side of the house about 7 years ago and have never even watched it bloom cause i just never go over there. i think it will eventually be a mauve color, went over there today looking for a mockingbird nest. gotta get rid of them ~ they are annoying!!
