krista > april 16 '09 i planted 3 different colors of gerbera daisies =) wish me luck, i tried them before and they didn't bloom any more than they were when i brought them home. funny thing, i was going to say i think these and sunflowers can just brighten your day ~ and i was looking up how to spell gerbera, because smugmug is telling me i spelled it wrong ~ and the first thing i see is that gerbera's are in the sunflower family. learn something new every day.

krista > may 1 '09 a macro of the viburnum blooms. love those teensy yellow blooms. they fall off after a day, and then there is the large white bloom ~ i haven't caught that in between stage. amazing :)
krista > may 9 '09 water lilies are blooming. seems kind of early since we haven't had much warm weather this spring.
krista > may 5 '09 2 days now i have tried to get a good shot of this. i'll keep trying...i just think it looks so whimsical. love that thing that shoots out so far in front, and the shapes of the unopened blooms with those frilly ends. for some reason i think it looks very dr. seuss-ish ~ lol, i don't know why i'm thinking that :)
krista > may 3 '09 love this time of year. everything just comes back to life =) compare it to this shot: http://myviewoflife.smugmug.com/gallery/4889175_VFuAn#527536057_qDaug i totally fudged the sky here ~ it was totally blown out ~ but i used an hdr effect on the winter shot, and that made the sky exagerated so i like it better than blown out. i need help with blown out skies. i even had a graduated filter on. any tips??
krista > march 28 '09 planted this cute little shrub this week ~ a flowering quince. i sure wish the dof was better on this ~ i hate that the middle of the far left flower isn't in focus. still have loads to learn.
krista > july 1 '09 those middle things pose me problems with focus :P unfortunately that's all i got in focus here, but it's the only shot i have today.
krista > june 30 '09 another oriental lily. looking forward to years ahead when these will multiply. i just planted these bulbs this year, the flowers have been very pretty but the stems holding them up are another story ~ kind of spindly looking.
